pretty wedding jewelry, gldn necklace

Today we are talking wedding jewelry, what I wore + some awesome places I came across while hunting for what to wear on the big day.

When I started looking for jewelry, I had three things in mind:  good quality, affordable and non-bridal.  Essentially, I wanted jewelry that fit my personal style, was elevated enough for our wedding but was also something I could see my self wearing after the fact.  I ended up purchasing from two different designers so let’s jump in!

ROSE GOLD DOUBLE-STRAND CHOKER NECKLACE

GOLD BANGLE WITH PAVÉ CRYSTALSN/A  |  ROSE GOLD BANGLE  |  CHAIN BRACELET WITH CRYSTAL DETAIL

EAR CLIMBERS (SIMILAR)

Deciding on what type of jewelry I would wear came easiest–I love necklaces and bracelets (not so much of a dangly earring person), so I knew my focus would be on those.  Since I was doing multiple outfit changes, I wanted to take into account the various necklines–I was looking for something that was going to work with all three looks as I didn’t want to be changing my jewelry throughout the day.  I found this dainty, double-strand choker and fell in love.  I lusted after it for almost a month before finally pulling the trigger–not because it was overly expensive, just because I wanted to be sure it was the right one. I was so happy when it arrived, the packaging is beautiful and so is the necklace itself, and I loved the way it looked on my wedding day.  Additionally, I’ve worn it a few times since.

The bracelets were the most difficult decision for me.  Originally, I was looking for gold filled (ie. solid gold) bangles.  I knew I wanted to wear three bracelets, two on my left wrist, and one on my right, as that’s what I typically wear on the day-to-day.  I started looking and the pricing was ranging, but generally and anything that I fell in love with, was $300+ per bracelet.  That totally was not in the budget and so I set my sights on gold plated (real gold over brass/silver/rhodium/etc).  I really wanted to wear three bracelets from different designers, but in the end fell in love with the ones from Melanie Auld.  Despite seeing and loving her pieces, I had actually tried to find something else early on in my search, but kept coming back to her.  I was also originally going to go with all rose gold jewelry (like my engagement ring), but in the end, mixed and matched with gold and loved the outcome.  To be honest, I just loved the two gold bracelets and they didn’t come in rose gold but I couldn’t stop thinking about them.

My earrings were super simple and the most inexpensive piece I wore, and I scored them at Aldo, on sale for $6.  I purchased them earlier in the year and tucked them away, to keep them nice, until the big day.  When I told my girlfriend about the faux diamond ear climbers, she said, ‘You should get real diamond earrings for your wedding!’ which would have been nice, but again, I wanted an untraditional, modern look for my jewelry and the real deal wasn’t in the budget.  I wanted to spend that money on other things and I do not regret going inexpensive on these whatsoever.

Lastly, I wanted to share some amazing jewelry places I came across while searching for my own.  A lot of you girls reached out on Instagram and offered suggestions (thank you!) and I looked at every single one of them!  So many good options that were exactly what I was looking for and more:

Amanda Deer  |  So affordable and great options–love this simple delicate coin choker.

GLDN  |  Aside from my necklace I wore, love this large curved collar necklace & this chain bracelet you could have engraved with your future spouse’s initial.

Made by Mary  |  I love all their bracelets (great for everyday wear, too) & this choker is like mine but with just one of the strands.

Melanie Auld  |   I’ll basically take two of everything; but seriously eyeing this necklace & another one of these bangles (but the thicker one).

Monica Vinader  |  Mid-high range jewelry, lots of options, love this chain style bracelet.

Strut  |  How pretty are these hammered cuffs?
