Today is my last post of vacation outfits from our trip down south last week. I wore this look on Valentine’s Day for dinner–you know, might as well take advantage of the red 😉
I love pairing shorts with a long sleeve top–it’s the perfect balance between chic, sexy and pulled together. Especially for evening, covering up on top and showing some leg with a shorter short is a great alternative to a dress.
I mentioned on IG Stories when I was packing that I’m not much of a dress person–not because I don’t want to be, but simply because the proportions often don’t land on me correctly. That said, my summer and vacation go-to outfits are often shorts with a chic top (remember the last time I wore these shorts? That would work too). While it is a little more of a thought process when you have to throw separates into your bag, but at the same time, the mixing and matching options are more extensive.
This top is the same one that you’ve seen on the blog in black and the sleeveless white one. It’s such a great fit and just looks gorgeous on + way more expensive than it actually is. When I saw the red, I scooped it up immediately knowing it would be a great addition to my wardrobe–plus I don’t have a ton of red, so nice to mix it up.
I will say that I did size down (from a medium to a small) in this top because I wanted the waist to be snug. Additionally, it does run a little short in the body in general, so pairing with a high waist is imperative if you don’t want to show any skin.
I’ve been working super hard on all of our vacation photos and can’t wait to share the post with you girls! I have a bit more work to do on it, but it will be up tomorrow with all my outfit details from our trip and more. Hope you have a great Tuesday.
