Hey there, good morning!  How was your weekend?

I spent my Friday evening poking around the mall, taking my time, but didn’t find much–none the less, it was great having some solo time to recharge the batteries.  I grabbed take-out for us on the way home and we watched a movie on the couch,

On Saturday morning, we threw on our swimsuits and loaded up the car and met up with a bunch of friends for a river float!  I had never done one before, but we all had our own inflatable rafts, tied them together, grabbed some drinks and snacks and floated down the river.  It was a really fun day, and the weather was perfect to be out on the water!

After a fun day, we zipped home and got ready to head out to my best friend’s birthday dinner and party at Central Bierhaus in Kanata. We had a great table of people, and awesome food and drinks all night long.

On Sunday I spent the morning cleaning and doing stuff around the house, and in the afternoon I filmed a haul video of the items I purchased during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

I’ve shared a bunch of the pieces in outfit posts on the blog, but have a couple more to come this week.

This is the last week of the sale and so many items have sold out, but then they get restocked either by Nordstrom or if people make returns.  If you have your eye on something, throw it in on your Wish List and keep checking, you might get lucky.

Late afternoon editing break + snack.

I’ve been crazy about this Farm Boy salad for over a year and recently discovered you don’t have to purchase it from their salad bar to enjoy it.  They sell it in these containers, and their in-house made dressing (the Apple Cider Vinegar one) is also available at the store.  I usually add a bunch of black or navy beans to get some protein and it’s an awesome lunch for work or weekend snack.

Then, on Sunday night, after I finished editing, we decided to take an impromptu trip downtown for dinner!

Also, totally didn’t plan to match, but you know I’m eating that up, haha.

We hit up El Camino, a fave spot for us, and had tacos and drinks.  Afterwards, we walked down the street to grab gelato and ended up running into a couple of friends and ended up chatting in the summer night for an hour.  It was a great end to the weekend.

Hope you girls had a great weekend yourself & I’ll see you tomorrow for another outfit post.
